Academic Research Program

Scientific Inquiry & Discovery

Our research framework provides members with focused academic domains, faculty mentorship, collaborative teams, and the experimental rigor needed to publish peer-reviewed scientific contributions.

Core Streams

Our Five Research Streams

Each stream focuses on a defined scientific frontier, guided by a designated Team Lead and academic mentors.

01
Research Stream 1

AI / Machine Learning Methodology

Focus: Machine learning, deep learning, model development, optimization algorithms, and rigorous empirical methodologies.

Members investigate fundamental architectures (convolutional networks, transformers, graph neural networks), loss formulations, regularization strategies, and training dynamics across high-dimensional benchmark datasets.

02
Research Stream 2

Biomedical AI / Image & Signal Analysis

Focus: Medical imaging modalities, physiological biosignals, healthcare datasets, and clinical AI applications.

Research includes automated diagnostic screening, cardiac abnormality classification from ECG signals, neurological analysis from EEG recordings, and segmentation of multimodal MRI and CT scans.

03
Research Stream 3

Explainable AI (XAI)

Focus: Model interpretability, feature attribution, surrogate approximations, and understanding AI predictions.

As black-box models proliferate in high-stakes domains, this stream researches local and global attribution methods (SHAP, Integrated Gradients, attention visualization), counterfactual explanations, and human-in-the-loop auditability.

04
Research Stream 4

Trustworthy AI

Focus: Reliability, uncertainty quantification, algorithmic fairness, adversarial robustness, and responsible AI.

Investigates out-of-distribution detection, Bayesian neural methods, bias detection and mitigation, data privacy, and defensive mechanisms against adversarial perturbations.

05
Research Stream 5

Evaluation & Research Publications

Focus: Systematic experimental design, benchmarking, baseline comparison, manuscript writing, and peer-reviewed scholarly publishing.

Acts as the intellectual synthesis engine of the club, guiding research teams across all streams in structuring formal literature reviews, documenting empirical methodologies, preparing reproducible GitHub repositories, and publishing in reputable venues.
